I’m not gonna lie, sometimes I really need movies explained to me when I don’t love them after the first watch.
After researching the point of this movie, I get it more and give credit to Scorsese for his movie as a young director.
Also so weird to see Robert De Niro young.

I get it.
Man was I late to this movie. I get it now. It’s just, wow… What a film.
It’s like little women, but boys and wrestling instead of girls and their ambitions, and more devastation and death.
The end scene, with his sons, that’s what truly got me. “A man doesn’t cry… It’s okay dad, you can cry. Everybody cries… Yeah, what are you talking about, we cry all the time.” Wow.
And also, “Tonight I walk with my brothers.” Heartbreaking. Oh my goodness. This movie made me sob.
