The Last House on the Left 2009
I have mixed feelings about this one - "the scene" is quite brutal and entirely too graphic and intentional. Leading up to that scene, there is this bizarre... fixation... on the teenage girl and it made me uncomfortable in the sense of like a "did this director get arrested years after this movie for child porn or sexual abuse?!". It had an "aged like milk vibe". That being said, the last half of the movie where its your typical "I'm not trapped in here with you, you're trapped in here with me!" I thought was pretty great.

Wind River 2017
I absolutely love this movie! If you're a fan of dark, atmospheric movies like Sicario then you owe it to yourself to watch this one. While the subject matter is rather dark, the way its all tied together is a masterpiece. Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen both give great performances with some truly touching moments. Likewise the supporting cast are all outstanding. Taylor Sheridan is proving to be one of my favorite writers at the moment, having written and directed this as well as written Sicario and Hell or High Water (also another amazing film).
