Heart wrenching. Hilarious. A thought-provoking look at the many sides of grief and their manifestations. Developed a Boston accent by the time the credits rolled.

Pleasantly surprised! I didn't know how the movie is "shot" going into it, thought I'd hate it and write the entire thing off as a gimmick after the first ten minutes, but it's a pretty decent, well-thought and well-paced flick that kept me guessing.

Years after the original YouTube video, I have relearned that I am not the target audience for Marcel the Shell. I understand why people like it: it's cute, charming, humorous and heartfelt; but, the way it was all presented didn't do much for me. Maybe I forgot about my similar sentiment when the original video went viral. Maybe I bought into the online hype. Maybe it's just different strokes for different folks.

Regardless, it's beautifully shot, the stop motion is fantastic, and the world of life-sized creatures is fun to observe.

A fun, action-packed, all-(necessary)-frills and no-punches-held action flick with the incomparable Bob Odenkirk. Give this man more roles, Hollywood!
