Fairly light and fun for what the subject matter suggests. Over the top violent kills without being too brutal or gratuitous.
If you liked this and haven’t seen ‘Laid’ on Peacock yet, they’ve got a nice similar Final Destination kinda vibe.
This Is America. Pretending all is well as we numb ourselves with Netflix and Marvel movies and crowd work clips as the live streamed extermination of Palestine is censored by tech billionaires, justified by leadership, and funded by our tax money.
The dog embodies the viewer. Freaking out the entire time about living at the literal gates of hell while the demons he’s found himself subservient to go on with their lives. Business as usual. The banality of evil. The dog knows the vibe is off and his cries of protest fall on deaf, uncaring ears.
He’s just a stupid animal, after all.

I was engrossed all the way through. Unbearable tension in every interaction with those WASP-y freaks in a way that was very much giving Parasite or Get Out vibes. Was begging László to go meat cleaver mode on those rich bastards like Erzsébet was begging him to cleave her meats upon her arrival to America (horned up for that Toth hog)
Am I crazy that it felt like the conclusion happened very suddenly for a three-and-a-half hour film?
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
