The Mitchells vs. the Machines 2021
Katie is such a hateable protagonist I wanted her to fail the whole movie. She's horrible to her dad and lies to his face about enjoying his company which completely ruins the character building moment, and shows she's a lying annoying mf that we shouldn't route for. Then they have another character building bonding moment, but because Katie is a bitch and lied previously how can you trust this moment? Dad deserves a better daughter.

Turns out I'm in the low percent that didn't think this movie is 5stars. It's fine. There's a lot of plot holes and things said and done by characters that isn't shown why, or lines up to anything established about them. The animation and sound was wonderful as all Ghibli films, but a lot of people seem to be ignoring the amount of things wrong with this movie in excitement to tip their hat to Miyazaki.
