The Thin Red Line 1998
There is undeniable beauty amidst the chaos in the films of Malick. It is a very intellectually made film about the absurdity and senselessness of war yet at the same time it also begs the question if war and violence is part of us, if it’s embedded in our very DNA, hardwired to wreak havoc and destruction, and can we or, do we have the ability to coexist with one another
Malick also suggests that domination might not just be…

Days of Heaven 1978
Malick has created something special with this poetic slow-burner.
Almost every frame of the film seems like something out of a Jean Francois Millet painting, with its golden-brown colour palette combined with Malick's creative choice to film during the last hours before sunset. The results are aesthetic and dream-like, which makes it a very relaxing watch.
The story itself is pretty straightforward, but I think the performances by the cast is what makes it watchable.
In the end, I still think 'The Tree of Life' is Malick's best work to date however, this film still deserves a chance to be watched.
