I wanted to like this film.
The Wild Robot uses the visual language of dystopian fiction (surveillant drones, corporate robots, high-tech consumerism) without actually bothering to critique the late-stage capitalist society it attempts to depict. You could be fooled this is a convenience utopian society with "every need met" as the robot's advertisement propaganda tells us.
