Mulholland Drive 2001
i wouldn't have studied film and got into the industry if i didn't watch mulholland dr., i don't know if that's good or bad but that's a thing. this film has a special place in my heart always.
even though i've seen it like a million times, this is my first time seeing it in theatre, because he died and capitalism likes that. it flows so much better in every way. if you are not a lynch believer, try him in cinema. it makes much more sense even if it doesn't.

it captures "thainess" so well that it doesn't need character developments or plot progression, just like thailand.
just pure misery porn which runs on hopes of human decency that keep fading away, just like thailand.
the extra topping is that despite all the shit happening, no one emphatize or change for anyone. same ego. same logic. same grudge. just like thailand.
all of those sound like negative critism but they aren't. the film just represents thai people too well and is suffering from success.
