The House That Jack Built 2018
Does this count as a dark comedy? I laughed several times during this movie but I felt really bad immediately after. I'd consider this the darkest dark comedy. Bleak and brutal with hints of kookiness to break up the heaviness. LVT does a great job of mixing art, morality, mortality, divinity, grand design and horror into a serial killer film which also becomes a mix of Dante's Inferno and It's a Wonderful Life. Whacky wild stuff from a whacky wild guy. 5/5

Training Day 2001
What a great movie. Everybody is in their prime. HOWEVER
I noticed a few things:One, Ethan Hawke's wife in the beginning was way too hot. Nobody who just had a baby looks that well rested, fit, and calm. Unrealistic standards. Almost ruined the movie for me.
Two, there's a transitional time lapse shot of clouds passing over the city right before they meet at the diner. The clouds are overlapping and going opposite directions. There is no magical wind…
