Altered States 1980
Movie is either the best, or worst film. Everything considered I’m leaning towards best. Very entertaining and escapes reality for a couple hours. Big fan of old special effects and having to rely off of a storyline more to account for the suspense. I think the first half was solid then the rest got a bit experiential which wouldn’t age as well with time (timeless). As my brother mention, if he didn’t go full ape mode, it would’ve been much better. Never go full ape mode…

Wake in Fright 1971
A deep psychological thriller at face value without the need to dive into explanations after to make up for blurred lines. As days progressed I found myself thinking more about the movie, particularly the character development and some questions which I initially thought had been answered. Such as the main character’s relationship, and if he ever did stay in Sydney, maybe he actually died and that was his purgatory before moving on.
