Another classic of my youth that I’m casting a more critical eye upon. Mel Gibson is (sorry) electric as Max, and Lord Humungus is as humongous as ever. There are some legendary stunts that risked life and limb, plus a delicious ending that serves as a big rug pull for the entire plot.
But MVP has to go to Harold Baigent, who plays the gravel-voiced narrator that elevates this solid tale to something more legendary.
You know, I rewatched this again in UHD for the first time in at least 10 years after dozens of viewings in my tender teen and young adult years. And you know what?
