  This film was very good it captured the message of the original story whilst I haven’t yet seen the original film it does the book some fair justice on dealing with the social challenges of a black woman in the South. One thing that I appreciate would be it does truly testify the importance in community in resistance particularly the sisterhood Celie has with other Women in her life.   Okay so was visually stunning first of all truly real and vulnerable. An amazing depiction of generational trauma, prejudice and in a way survival it captured things I knew were experiences of many but I felt like only I lived I saw through her eyes and they became mine.
