GFF 2025 #4
(Damn I miss F1 so much during the off-season)
Paint-by-numbers in its biographical documentary approach, there are no creative flourishes here that are going to make the filmmaking stay in mind, but I love F1 so I found this a very entertaining watch. (Also I saw Damon Hill in the GFT foyer yesterday!)
There are quite a few F1 docs out there now (the obvious one being Senna, the gold-standard F1 doc; and then there’s that Netflix…
GFF. World premiere moment. Pretty fucking sick. Damon Hill Stan now.
Thought having only two contributors was pretty compelling. Lots of great archive.
This is a truly remarkable and thought-provoking production with some of the best unseen footage from Hill’s time in Formula 1. A true love story about his career and legacy.
I will forever remember the moment the entire cinema audience clapped and cheered as Damon Hill won the 1996 world championship in the film.
It was such a privilege to be among the first to experience it and hear some incredible stories about Senna and Schumacher during the Q&A with Damon Hill, Alex Holmes and Simon Lazenby.
Amazing watching experience with an audience including Damon Hill himself.
Premiere moment! Was honestly one of the best sports documentaries I’ve seen. S/o Damon hill btw
My first World Premiere at GFF tonight! Great racing doc and fantastic Q&A with the ‘96 F1 Champ afterwards
