  I get both the criticism and praise this film gets. Watching it at least initially, it's hard not to just say we didn't need to see all that shit to know fascism is bad bro. Like shit eating consumerism allegory is good, as is the viewers feeling helpless (and almost trapped) just like the victims. Nonetheless, a lot of it still seems unnecessary.
