The "final cut" of Ridley Scott's timeless masterpiece is as close to perfection as the medium of cinema allows.
Without the theatrical release's narration, the performances are allowed space to breathe. Perhaps the most striking characterisation, though, comes from the depiction of 2019 Los Angeles itself, which absolutely oozes atmosphere from the soundtrack to the sets.
It's hard to imagine what cyberpunk or even science fiction itself would look like today without Blade Runner's influences.

I was pleasantly surprised by Shang-Chi. What stood out most to me was the character development displayed, including from the villain, who was more nuanced than I had expected.
That said, if you're hoping this film to break out of the Marvel mold, you're probably going to be disappointed. There are many ways in which it fails to really do anything new. The obviously unique setting doesn't really bring a different tone in the same way that films like Guardians…
An interesting entry to the Witcher franchise.
This one takes some interesting creative liberties with the lore that diehard fans might dislike- but they do so in a way that does fit with the atmosphere and tone of the universe, and so still does feel consistent with them even if it's not the same canon.
Anyone familiar with the likes of the recent Castlevania series may find certain aspects of the wise-cracking protagonist familiar, but the two settings are similar in their bleak oppressiveness, and so some comparison would likely have been inevitable.
