Wild at Heart 1990
David lynch characters are like bombs waiting to explode. But these bombs are confused or have been lead to believe to go off at the wrong time, or never at all. This made the ending all the more beautiful and cathartic. Great song choices.

Rip to a legend.
Really cool to see david’s envisonment of 50s america in the 80s, combined with midwest lumber aethetics, urban nightclub scenes, with a sprinkle of dreadful terror. He really shines best in presenting a lovely image, and then snatches you into a deeper hypnosis by pulling back the curtain, revealing the dark underbelly. It worked in mullholland drive, twin peaks, and it definitely worked here. It got a little hard to follow along in the second half but the tension was always present.

Call Me by Your Name 2017
A great movie pretty much tells you how it’s gonna end from the beginning; how things will fall apart. However, it convinces you that maybe there are twists and turns that can leave the story with a different ending. At the end though it tells the audience that they were right all along, but in a way that wasnt expected from the start.
This sounded better in my head.
