Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 2021
It was fun and different from other marvel movies. But even with a beautiful magical forest village and great actors, the plots lacks to find a direction - dad is evil, then not evil, then evil again, son loves dad, hates dad, wants to kill dad. It didn’t really feel like a round movie.
Maybe a factor was that my boyfriend fell asleep and woke up every 30min to ask what he missed, to then fall asleep again after I explained.Translated from by -
The French Dispatch 2021
Beautiful, funny, french with a ridiculously great cast. Wes gracefully mixes different types of storytelling and creates a different kind of movie art. The switching between black and white, theatre and animation somehow works so well that you wonder why not more movies are made like this. It reminded me of watching a Fellini movie. The stories are funny and thought-provoking and leave you wondering with just the right amount of questions. Enjoyed every minute and will definitely rewatch it.
