Does he understand the cassette songs, especially the last one? He may come from an educated background, it's not unrealistic. Sharp contrast between when he is working and when he is not. His blue uniform dehumanizes him and only other outcasts/marginalized acknowledge his presence. Tokyo from his tiny blue car seems alienating.
