Nosferatu 2024
In hindsight, a remake was not needed. But watching films like this is always beautiful. Because there is passion in representing, in creating those characters, those sets, there is passion in making a film that is cold on the surface, but that reveals great passion in depth. Nosferatu is not Eggers' apex, it is not a masterpiece and there is a lack at times in the pace, perhaps in the writing. But what a great challenge, what a desire to do well that emerges, with Eggers' personal imprint, from this film.
