A very timely, and very Spielberg look at a pivotal moment for freedom of the press and the bravery of Kay Graham in the face of corporate patriarchy.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri 2017
Three Billboards is a slightly absurdist glimpse into the power of symbols and signs in human relationships and human responses to tragedy. The film is presented as a comedic, mystery crime-drama but in the end becomes more of a slice of life of a community jarred into self-reflection and learning to live well with one another. It’s not about results as much as it is about becoming as the film’s formal presentation of story demonstrates.
Compelling mix of genres, poignant character arcs, brilliant use of props, and a satisfyingly denial of closure.

Ghost in the Shell 2017
It was like the ghost of The Matrix was stuck inside the body of Robo-Cop and The Matrix quit on the body.
As a comic book adaptation, fascinating aesthetics.
