There's Still Tomorrow 2023
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
went into this film completely blind and on a whim (thank you amc a-list) and so the end really got me emotional. what a heartwrenching and ultimately heartwarming film. isn’t subtle by any means but also doesn’t bonk you on the head with its Themes. some strange choices in here for sure that detracted from individual scenes (most notably the domestic abuse “dance” sequence) but on the whole, this was the most engrossing, emotionally complete experience i’ve had at the movies in a while.

Mickey 17 2025
some really interesting ideas could’ve sprung from this version of the not-too-distant future, but ultimately it all felt a bit simplistically handled. Rob was great (the accent took me OUT) but all the characters, including Mickey, were either caricatures or kind of poorly defined. and it wasn’t the kind of narrative sparsity that comes from a film’s lack of desire to handhold; this movie was quite happy to nudge its audience toward noticing recurring motifs.
i will say, the creatures were adorable despite being creepyTranslated from by
