Megalopolis is the Death Stranding of cinema.
Both are products of critically-acclaimed directors, who ride the success of their decade(s)-old, genre-defining masterpieces. Those directors now think they're the Michelangelo's of their respective mediums, and have gone on to cut themselves loose of any restrictions, spending long spans of time making what they deem to be the magnum opuses of their careers.
Unfortunately, the results were disorganized messes that squandered every opportunity to explore the genuinely interesting ideas they barely raised.…
