Someone really cranked up the bloom up in this bitch uh?
It’s incredible that I got to watch two new Soderbergh joints in consecutive weekends and both fucking slap.
I really enjoyed the focus on the intimate cat and mouse game of spy that most movies in the genre now have replaced with bombastic set pieces.

The Boy and the Heron 2023
Beautifully animated, the fire sequences with the lens distortion were a delight to watch and I really enjoyed the contrast of the cute visual representation of an underworld; having said that the film feels heavily disjointed.
It takes to too long to get the ball ralling, and once it gets there; the story feels rushed, with a lot of expository dialogue and a lot of cool concepts being barely explored.
Even with a wonky story, the film does a great job with the themes of loss and grief; giving a melancholy feel to the whole thing.
