  i was pressured into watching this movie and did NOT have high hopes for it. however, the movie was super cute, even though the effects were funny and there were some obvious plot holes. this would definitely have been a comfort move if i had watching this as a kid.

  since i'm not a huge sci-fi fan, i didn't really think i would like this movie, especially since it was only rated pg-13. this was definitely one of the best movies i've seen, and the way that it represented aliens was super successful and realistic, not going over the top or trying too hard. the timeline of this movie worked great with how it jumped back and forth, and i love movies like this where the pieces fall into place. i also thought that the ending sentiment of the movie was really sweet, that she chose to live her life anyway regardless of what she knew.

  this is one of my all time favorite movies ever in the history of the world. michael cera's awkwardness and elliott page's tendency to speak before thinking makes this movie so so so incredibly uncomfortable at times. this is also the movie that made me hate jason bateman unfortunately i don't care if he's a good person. this movie is beautiful and simple and funny and just sweet and is another great film for coming of age.
