Blade Runner 2049 2017
As much as it tries to make callbacks to the original, it simultenously fails to live up to it in my opinion. As good as this movie is, it's both somehow overcomplicated and too simple - the plot is hard to follow at times, while the characters have become more bland, less grey than its predecessor's.
Nevertheless it is still without a doubt an amazing film with gorgeous cinematography, amazing ideas, great characters and a world that feels alive... it's only unfortunate then that it attempts to be the original one so badly it became less unique in the process.
