I didn't think I was gonna be this emotionally stressed over this movie yet here we are (plenty of peril to be had here). Gints Zilbalodis beautifully (and impressively I may add) animates these animals with a lot personality that we not only see our own pets in the screen, but also ourselves. The "unfinished" renderings also look very painterly which makes the nature and the environment serene to look at (even got my own cat seriously watching at least half of this film). Hoping this starts a shift in a better representation of cats in media. 🐱

Turns me sick to my stomach seeing everyone celebrate the success of their hard work which ends up killing over 200k people. Hauntingly engrossing seeing the lead up to their scientific achievement / destruction, but Nolan’s fascination with Oppenheimer alone might not have been as compelling as the bigger repercussions outside of the man himself.

For a movie about morality, judgement, and religion, In Bruges never took itself too seriously (in fact, it's hilarious and witty) but at the same time, never loses its poignancy and heart.

    Schindler's List

Schindler's List memorializes (names being mentioned still echoes) and confronts this time of history and the complex people within it, without ever attempting to explain the inexplicable. Oskar Schindler's isn't necessarily all good or Fiennes portrayal of Goethe, at times, shows some glimmer of inner conflict. Why do these people do what they do, act like they do? It all seems senseless, well maybe because they just are, and any justification would have been completely reductive.

    Spielberg shows incredible restraint…
