There are moments of genuinely decent social commentary or seemingly-bold realism but Colors refuses to stay in those moments, instead injecting goofy bits that break all immersion or it seems to positively portray awful behavior. Worse of all, the story meanders aimlessly and by the end it feels like nothing happened, and that doesn't feel like a deliberate thematic choice.
