Alien: Romulus 2024
As a pretty massive fan of the original 1979 film and its first sequel, I wasn't sure what to expect from this film. But it delivered, for me, on pretty much every level. Hands down the best sequel since Aliens, and atheistically possibly the best film in the entire franchise, in my opinion. And that’s high praise, I know.

In a Violent Nature 2024
Found this really disappointing, to be honest. I’m not the biggest fan of slashers to begin with, but I thought the whole conceit of the film might make it pretty interesting. That novelty wore off for me pretty quickly though, and besides a couple pretty nice looking shots, I really didn’t care for it. I understand what it was going for, but lampshading something as satire doesn’t excuse bad acting and horrible dialogue, especially not when the film and it’s marketing are advertising an elevated take on the genre.
