Ghost in the Shell 1995
Much praise for the cyberpunk aesthetic done stunningly, including the music. Compared to the city in Akira this one feels not as techy, more human and gritty, yet equally dystopian. I liked how the persistent nudity of female bodies never felt sexual? Instead I saw cyborgs who have transcended their sexuality/gender and just happen to have boobs. Either way I wasn't sure what was happening for half of this movie
