A little blended gem of gonzo sci fi, stoner-conspiracy theory comedy and mockumentary satire. Very watchable with an oddball sense of timing and humor.
If you enjoyed Sorry To Bother You, Primer, or Bug, this might interest you.

Enjoyed the  ingredients probably a bit more than the final feast🤤.
Mia Goth reminding me of if Kubrick cast Shelley Duvall for the part of Jack Torance. 🪓
Its got some dead spots where the film sags for sure and its missing the dread of X, but its made up for with some very creative scenes and a wild performance from Goth. Rockett composing shots with exceptional flair and West amping up tension to hilariously extreme levels. ⛈️

Probably the most upsetting dinner since Midsommar.

Pretty damned fun to watch fit Nick Nolte and business casual Robert Shaw go diving searching for sunken treasure.

Its no Jaws, its much closer to Night Moves, Roger Moore 007 or even Uncharted. But it is definitely a worthwhile time.

Unbelievably huge in scale and impressive in scope, about as close to a faithful adaptation to the Frank Herbert source material as any fan could ask for.
The story and world building is given ample room to breathe. This was going to be key, as in my opinion Herbert’s writing, especially early in the book, is very heavy with exposition and unnatural dialogue that characters use to deliver it. That issue was twofold on David Lynch’s Dune with a shortened…

    So cringe.
The dialogue and writing are just bad. The concept,  indeed the reason this movie exists, is completely bankrupt. The many knowing winks and nods to reboot fatigue or meta jokes all ring hollow. They are SO irritating and almost insulting. The glimpses serve to season the goings on with better framed, better shot, better written, better conceived, better executed scenes..

Callbacks and easter eggs to previous movies are ham fisted. Characters appear with no reason or purpose but…
