  i think i related most to vivian in this, the older sibling guilt is definitely real, didi was a lil shit tho. him and his mother talking about giving up her dreams to immigrate and start a family deeply resonated with me considering my mum gave up her art career to raise me. this was a good reminder that our parents were once kids with their own dreams and this is their first go at life too 😕

  I had to pause this film several times to open imdb and check I was watching the right one because the production design felt like it hadn't aged at all holy shit. Visually, the sets are beautiful, but the pacing and angles are really what sold it for me. The movement, at times, is so slow and makes you feel sort of trapped in the moment with the crew.   Entertaining for sure but a bit dumb and too illogical at times for my liking. I do like that it was not your typical Christmas movie and would love to see Jason Bateman in more villain roles but the writing and plot just was not on par imo.

  been waiting sooo long to watch and it was so worth the wait. It felt very different to the other bong joon ho films I've watched but also similar in the sense that the build up into the last act was very explosive. This for sure made up for the kinda slow start. Loved the dark comedy approach to political themes but for me the acting really stole the show esp naomi ackie she ateeee.

  first film of the year and it made me log back into letterboxd after months😭
