  been waiting sooo long to watch and it was so worth the wait. It felt very different to the other bong joon ho films I've watched but also similar in the sense that the build up into the last act was very explosive. This for sure made up for the kinda slow start. Loved the dark comedy approach to political themes but for me the acting really stole the show esp naomi ackie she ateeee.

  first film of the year and it made me log back into letterboxd after months😭

  Entertaining for sure but a bit dumb and too illogical at times for my liking. I do like that it was not your typical Christmas movie and would love to see Jason Bateman in more villain roles but the writing and plot just was not on par imo.

  “mr graysmith, i do the posters myself”

  That entire sequence followed by the basement scene was pure terror. No music, no special effects, nothing extra but something about the tone of dialogue was so sinister. The slow burning pace of this film had me so frustrated at the lack of available technology at the time and left me wondering, what if? I can't even begin to imagine how agonising it must've been for people working on the case. I think this film depicted that frustration and obsession perfectly.
