    Somebody needs to tell gay people that just because it’s representation doesn’t mean it’s good. First of all, what’s up with Velma always falling for the villains (first Omar from Where’s my mummy, now this?) it wasn’t problematic, it was just painfully cringy.     This movie had so much potential and so little plot. don’t feel like doing the whole explanation so here it is in short. 

    Mystery/plot quality: -.5 it was too incoherent 

    Entertainment value: +1

    Message: +.5

    Whether or not it went batshit bonkers: +.5

    Did Daphne serve cunt: +.5 new category because 5 is better than four. And this does make or break the movie (in this case it did neither).

    While the racism was glaring and the sexual tension between Scooby and that chihuahua was unsettling, i loved the commentary on American tourism industries in South America. Hilariously terrible and fantastically anti-capitalism, like every children’s movie should be. 

    Mystery/plot quality +.5 predictable, but not extremely. It was high quality, although no goats were sucked on as the word chupacabra implies.
    Entertainment value (including how much I laughed at the shitty writing): +1.0 terribly racist stereotypes but the deeply problematic cultural references…
