Growing up in Western PA and thinking the rest of the world cared about the actual Groundhog Day holiday as much as we did.

The scariest and most effective horror film I’ve seen in a long, long time. It’s perhaps one of the more perplexing films I’ve seen in a while, too. Skinamarink is an experience that you need to buy into to fully enjoy. It’s going to feel boring and it’s going to be disorienting - but it’s all done in an effort create the full experience. Holy Hell, what a Movie (with an intentional capital M). I can't believe this has evaded me for so long. Obviously magnificent, but I can already tell that I need to watch this again to let it all set in.

For context, the original Blair Witch was shot on those formats, and then transferred both types of film to a consistent 35mm film. With this new restoration, the film looks brand new, and, even better, it feels legitimately scarier. This film has always creeped me…

Never as bad as I remember it to be, but you can tell the franchise is starting to slow-up a bit at this point. Still though, we get classic Jason and some cool ideas thrown into the mix. Shame on the MPAA for their takedown of this movie.
