This story never stops to amaze me! Andrew Garfield brings sincerity to the character Desmond Doss in a story about even in the greatest struggles and fears of war and perception that holding to your faith and beliefs can be possible. One thing that was a shame was whilst there was a epilogue (which is quite distinct and striking), it would have been great to see Desmond return to Dorothy as one of the other motivations for the characters. Coming back to this film after many years brought back the memory I had of seeing this at the cinemas. Where I watched a trailer with my wife (who at the time was my girlfriend) and went into the movie incredibly in awe of the visuals, storyline, the characters. Start of this film was a bit unusual, I can't put my finger exactly what. The film angles and style (with the perceptions) for the first portion of the film were throwing me off big time. The incorporation of magic in this film is also a bit unclear and as to who has it or not. But the second half of the film felt more comfortable to watch, with a driving motive clear from the characters.

As a non-dancer (but married to a dancer), I both laugh but also greatly appreciate the level of talent on display in this film. The choreography is done very well. Beginning feels rushed in elevating tension with conflict for the protagonist and some of the motives for the 'new dance crew' could have been fleshed out. However, the story all together is not bad.
