Earwig and the Witch 2020
It wasn’t terrible I guess. I enjoyed the character design at the very least. Everything else was kinda meh.
The CG animation isn’t bad either, but it’s stiff and lacks the fluidity of Ghibli’s other films. It’s fairly expressive too.
The story moves at a strange pace, and the characters don’t really have consistent relationships with each other. The main character does lots of things with seemingly little reason. The ending also is kinda bad, very sudden and abrupt.
In summary, all of the flavor drawings of the characters during the credits are more interesting than the entire movie that plays before it.Translated from by -

There’s so many different forces at play in this story, and yet they all seem to work harmoniously to provide a truly deep and beautiful story of struggle and compromise. The soundtrack really does a lot to amplify moments, especially after the Deer God is killed and everything starts dying; those shrieks in the orchestra were amazing. The Thing 1982
Coming from the perspective of a younger person who hasn’t seen the original The Thing, this movie was fantastic. The special effects were impressive for the time and still definitely hold up, and the jumpscares and build-ups are perfect. I also enjoy the ending, which has spawned infinite theories, as it leaves the fate of the final two researchers up to the imagination of the viewer. Overall, super awesome and scary.
