This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
while I enjoyed this adaptation for the most part, it's incredibly confusing for someone who hasn't read the books to deal with that rushed mess of an ending. what the hell happens to Alfredo? how the fuck does that one murderous woman die? why the fuck was no one present at the duke and the cook's wedding? HELLO????? WHAT???? nah. the ending made me so angry that I would never watch this again and don't even care to review any other aspect of the show 😤🖕🏼
i like the cinematography, but the movie is a little underwhelming. maybe because the events are painfully mundane. a part of me, though, thinks that that might be just what's needed amongst a plethora of other queer films that only portray the Tragedy of Being Queer™. still 3/5. also the couple is pretty and I love how the dynamic is "emotionally constipated x very loving." feels real. would watch again...probably with pizza...idk
very comforting. the storyline with the little boy is the sweetest thing, and I do think they do a good job overall with intertwining all the different subplots together! 9/10 definitely a new wholesome comfort movie
entertaining storyline, impressive stop-animation and very likable characters. would watch again 🫡
