A haunting, visceral depiction of the immigrant experience in America. Made on a modest budget of 10 million dollars, the film's ambition and scale are a testament to the incredible talent behind it. Exploring weighty themes of belonging, identity, change, and continuity, the story unfolds over a runtime of well over three hours—an epic length that may not suit everyone. Bold and unflinching, it portrays life, sex, and drugs with raw honesty. You will linger with the film, long after the credits roll.

a testosterone-increasing action film, filled with sweaty muscly men (there's like 3 women), memorable one-liners, and enough explosions to make Michael Bay orgasm.

A very well-made modern gothic adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel and Murnau's original. Robert Eggers is one of my favorite directors today, and this film shows why. His dedication to historical authenticity, especially to reconstructing the psyche of people in the past, is second to none. Top-notch cinematography, and incredibly atmospheric, no cheap scares. Some of the acting (looking at you Aaron Taylor-Johnson) felt a bit overdramatic/stilted, though it could be argued that it was intended to give the film a heightened sense of drama. However I do think it was missing something, and I still prefer his previous films to this one.

A good sci-fi horror/thriller, though a bit underbaked. Laurence Fishburn, Sam Neil, and the rest of the cast were good/great. "Alien"-esque, which is a compliment of course, especially visually, the film looked great, especially the gore. The plot's interesting, but the film doesn't live up to it, and the 90-minute run time doesn't help with that.
