I didn’t love the animation style, or that this combined my two worst fears: vast bodies of water and something harming my cat. But I did love the soundscape and the little meows and the friends we made along the way.

Didn’t think it would be possible for me to like anyone else’s take on Glinda after Chenoweth, but Ariana is excellent - she’s my new fave. Cynthia’s voice is obviously out of this world, but her acting is a bit lackluster. Choreo, costumes all good. Lighting strange. Pretty close to five stars but nothing can top that feeling from the stage production during Defying Gravity when Elphaba’s cloak takes over the entire stage, final riff, blackout, intermission and you’re just buzzing.

SHAKESPEAREAN. The most poetic, cunning, technically impressive set I’ve ever seen and will ever see.

I was getting bored so I got up to get white cheddar popcorn and when I came back Zendaya was holding a knife and now I’m IN. Team Marie. I love it. JDW’s monologues are vague and slippery, Zendaya’s are meaty. She has set the table and served the meal and she is eating. And I’ll admit - it is a little weird how young she looks, but Julia Roberts was 21 in Pretty Woman while Gere was 39 so let’s get over it.
