Saltburn 2023
This was a frustrating one for me. It definitely has a lot of things going for it: performances, cinematography, and especially set design but where it really falls off for me is the writing. More specifically about halfway through it just kind of collapses in on itself and so much of the twists just seem contrived.
I think the film’s biggest fault is the lack of an overarching theme or message. You could maybe say it’s making a statement about the upper class, but what statement? It’s a dark film that left me thinking “Okay and…?”.Translated from by -
