I think the filmmaking on display here is impressively uncomfortable and that's for me a mixed bag. The horror is effective but so effective that it does make the general ick vibe feel a bit much.
The last segment is a fucking roller coaster and Ti West's segment is genuinely a very effective slowburn with a great reveal, the Skype call one was brilliantly performed but feels a bit undercooked for me, and the wraparound and first segment just kinda…

Asteroid City 2023
When I watch this film it reminds me of how much of you is put into your art. Reminds of how vulnerable and painful it can be. How lonely and inconvenient your passion can be. How lost you can feel when your own emotions are the tools you use to build something that people may watch once and never think about again and how much that can hurt.
And it makes me desperate to feel that all again.
