bomb soundtrack, great comedic timing, script and rich cultural display. got so invested into these characters that i kind of want to buy all their plush toys
scenes i loved:

- i'm not a princess
- Tamatoa: pick an eye to look at
- did maui just turn into sven when…
it hits all the right chords for me: cult-ish / comedic / dystopian sci-fi; alien-inspired space travelling, mark and patrick as the leads, physical comedies, pinch of subliminal social critique at capitalism and animal rights... it's is a bit dragged at first, but then the plot and cast is just so amazing that I kind of lost track of run time, especially after the multiples part. truly amazing film. better than parasite imo.
started with extremely high expectations, but grave of the fireflies is unfortunately a boring and mid war story. it's a fair tale of survival, but it tries too hard to illicit emotion. the visuls and music were just far from being a masterpiece even when compared to other ghibi films. also, i found it difficult to emphasize with any characters - seita really pissed me off when he often let his pride get in the way. i know it's an autobiography but come on
richard gadd is a narcissistic coward. he is extremely selfish and ungrateful at the cost of making everyone around him hurt, not to mention he kept martha in for his own good. there were just so many ocassions in which he could - if he's at least a normal, reasonable human being - withdraw unscathed. unbearable, horrible experience overall and apart from the SA part, I'm not sure why people are advocating this dude
