  Being bored and restless in a contemporary setting that should be comfortable and exciting but really isn’t. Especially while dealing with one’s own internal back and forth, repetitive thoughts and reminders of regret and loneliness. The two mcs trying to hold onto what they think is right for them- what they think they love because they loved it before. 

  Also being white knowing only english in Japan and never putting in the effort to learn at least some conversational Japanese prior to their trip….

  It is a compilation of Marilyn's saddest most traumatizing moments with a fictional spin that is honestly exploitative. Marilyn was not only a sex symbol, she was a person who existed beyond her public image. The director has no empathy toward Marilyn or almost any respect for her work and life.
  I enjoyed some of the cinematography, and the physical portrayal of Marilyn felt satisfactory in my opinion- just not the horrendous film itself.

  I laugh at a lot of the scenes now but when I was 9 I thought this was the ONLY romance movie.
  Still can enjoy it for the nostalgia and the soundtrack is honestly the best despite how silly this movie can be.
