  The story leaves much to be desired, but visually this is one of the best movies ever made. The practical effects hold up incredibly well. This is a fairy tale brought to life by Ridley Scott.

  A very solid sequel that improves on the already amazing animation and music from the first. I love where they take the characters, we see a few very cool characters being introduced, and this sets up the third film nicely. 

  However… this does simply feel like a part 1 or an episode. Not a single plotline is finished. They tried doing and Empire Strikes Back but instead did a Desolation of Smaug. The cliffhanger will make you excited for the…

  “We accept the reality of the world which we’re presented.” 

  We are raised by the culture in which we’re brought up in. No matter how silly the things are that we’re told, we will believe them if our environment believes them. Which is why it’s so easy for people to believe in gods and mythical stories, even though the belief in them is completely irrational. Even in the age of the internet, where information is at our fingertips, people will still refuse to even look into information because of the reality they were presented as a kid. 

  This film displays this phenomenon superbly.
