  It’s right up there with classic technicolor epics like Gone with the Wind, and should be remembered with the same fondness. Errol Flynn’s screen presence is massive and the whole thing is just a lot of fun. Still the best Robin Hood movie ever made!

  I loved Badlands, so naturally I had to check out Malick’s next film. This one is even more subtle in its storytelling and immaculate in its atmosphere. My mind drifted to Alberta while watching it and sure enough, that’s where it was filmed (despite taking place in the Texas panhandle!) I think the film captures the magic of that setting in a way few others have been able to. But beyond the visuals, his minimalist style of plot development and…
