Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

This movie is everything the first movie should have been. A character-focused space adventure starring a lovable cast of characters, and here they're actually acting like themselves! Pretty much every decision made in The Motion Picture is reconned here, in favor of character arcs that I much prefer. Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are all who you'd want them to be, they're just old now.

Even characters like Chekov get their moments to shine. Wrath of Khan feels like it actually…

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie

By far the best Looney Tunes movie (and I know that's not saying much). These characters debuted as theatrical shorts in the thirties, so can you believe it took 95 years for them to get their own fully-animated feature film? I'm happy to say that it was worth the wait! However, once that happens the movie never loses steam. Superman's shoes are big ones to fill, and Reeves is both effortlessly charming and larger than life in the role. Margot Kidder is also great,…

    Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth

So they went and turned Hellraiser into a slasher movie. This is explained in-universe as the evil half of Pinhead being separated from the good half. Or something. Who cares? You're here for the sex and violence and god dammit does this movie deliver. There's a sex scene here that borders on just being pornography, and the bloodshed on display is nothing short of metal. There are like three scenes where a character happens upon gigantic piles of bodies, all…
