Paul Thomas Anderson is one of the five greatest living filmmakers. Every one of his films is at least near perfection. His ability to make fun, ensemble films like this and Magnolia, while also making brutal period pieces like There Will Be Blood and Phantom Thread is unmatched. Whatever he sets his mind to, he crushes it. At 155 minutes, this film sings. Only a handful of directors are capable of doing that.

Mark Wahlberg has never had a role…

This is hard to rate because I spent most of the film standing in the hall of the theater while trying to get Taylor Swift tickets, but when I would look up from my phone and the first half hour that I sat there for, I thought was incredible. I’m going to give it a proper watch as soon as possible.

My favorite Liv Tyler performance by far. She’s shining in the background of this movie for the majority of the time and it feels like Hanks recognizes as we do that she’s the star. Tom Everett Scott deserved a better career. He’s gold in this. Steve Zahn should be in everything. Shoutout Lamarr.

I enjoyed this, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. A little too much magic and martial arts for me. I enjoy those things, but I like some story with it. I really liked Dennis Dun, I was surprised to see he hasn't acted in much.

I was so excited for this yet it still managed to blow me away. Margot Robbie is outright incredible in this. Ryan Gosling’s performance is funnier and much showier, but Robbie still steals the show. Michael Cera also stood out, every line of his was hilarious. This script is hilarious and heartfelt in ways I didn’t expect, but should have. What a film. Greta Gerwig is three for three.

Better than Alien, but still a little overhyped for me. Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton were really great. Paul Reiser plays a great asshole. I agree that Cameron is one of the most innovative director ever, but I’m not as big a fan of his writing as a lot of people.

    Random Thought:
The Queen alien using the elevator made me think of the smart velociraptors joke in The Critic.
