Great to watch a film embraced by the mainstream that avoids genre recipes. The epic format almost makes The Brutalist more like a novel than a film. Masterfully balances information and ambience, violence and everyday life, in an aesthetically innovative and invigorating manner. Tragically sad, yet somehow inspiring.
