Something I really like about Hard Truths is how it eased us in the audience at Peckhamplex in with humour and easygoing drama, some of it capturing with brilliant realism the vibrant banter any Brit will be familiar with (or enviously wishing that they were!) and some of it unfortunately feeling a touch too low-brow, soap-opera-ish.

Wim Wenders, you've made your plea and I'm hearing you.

It's a beautiful day, today. There's not much standing between me and my enjoyment of it, but it still feels like a monumental task to get my feet over those obstacles.

I'll breathe and lift one leg after the other, and let the sun hit my face.

I sincerely hope this film is doing for a generation of young people what Into The Wild did for me.
