  "words should express just what one wants to say, do they betray us?"
  
  brilliant! my favorite chapter was the 11th where she conversates with the stranger and the 12th where a fragment of the story "the oval portrait" by edgar allan poe is being recited by the young boy. the amount of references in literature and philosophy throughout the film is just beautiful. 

  the intersection of her being the directors wife and "working in film" when in the movie she leaves…
